I know what the problem is; my mind never stops. Sometimes when I’m sleeping I realize I’m still thinking. I know what the solution is; meditation. For years however I’ve always put it off. I’ve assumed calmness, stillness and looking inwards into my Self wasn’t as important as ambition, determination and strength. Mediation has always intrigued me. I know that the Oprah’s, Deepak Chopra’s and every-one-you-can-think of does it. I know it brings about mental peace and helps them live the life they want… So I decided to give it a try.
I lasted 10 minutes.
It felt like watching TV, but I was really watching in on my own mind. I thought of people, things to do, and I was constantly reminding myself that I am meant to be meditating! Eventually I tuned in to my breathing and that’s when I felt good. I realized breathing is one thing that you can do so well even in your sleep! Breathing right helped me feel like I am really here on Earth- that I am connected to something. This brief encounter has made me want to meditate daily.
